  1. Overview

B.Z. Before Zeebu

The telecom wholesale prepayment industry is critical for global telecommunications, acting as a backbone that facilitates the exchange of voice, data and messaging services between intercontinental carriers and operators. However, the industry is plagued by several challenges, including long settlement times, forex slippage, and high fees. All of these challenges lead to revenue loss for industry players.

Fee's & Monetary Incentive

Zeebu slashes telecom settlements by cutting transaction fees and decreasing settlement times. Traditional payment rails cost companies 4-5% fees and lock up capital for 90 to 120 days through long settlements. Zeebu cuts these fees to 2% total—evenly split between merchants and clients—while reducing settlement times to minutes. This dual innovation frees up millions in capital annually, empowering these telecom companies to focus on growth rather than waiting on drawn-out payment processes. By optimizing both cost and speed, Zeebu has onboarded over 130 companies to use their PSP and settled 4 billion in total payments so far.

Transparency

The current telecom wholesale prepayment industry relies on intermediaries and manual intervention, resulting in slow and cumbersome processes. The lack of transparency in pricing and settlements further compounds these issues, leading to disputes and delayed payments. Additionally, the absence of real-time data analytics hinders carriers and operators from making data-driven decisions, affecting their operational efficiency.

Security Threats

Furthermore, the industry is exposed to several security threats, including fraudulent activities and cyber-attacks, leading to significant losses for businesses. These issues make it imperative to find a solution that can address the challenges faced by the industry, create efficiencies and provide a secure platform for transactions.

Blockchain

DeFi technology provides a unique opportunity to solve the pain points of the telecom wholesale industry. By leveraging blockchain and smart contract technology, a decentralized PSP (payment-service-provider) currently facilitates secure and seamless transactions between carriers, operators, and service providers. The decentralized nature of the platform ensures transparency in pricing and settlement, reduces the need for intermediaries, and enables automated dispute resolution.

Thus, this industry was primed for a Web3 application that's revolutionizing operations, reducing costs, making settlements faster, and making the process transparent for all players. Zeebu provides a secure, transparent and efficient PSP for telecom operators, carriers, and service providers, enabling them to transact with confidence and speed.
